Singles in the Church – by a Church Member
I just received this email from a member of my free Christian singles site – fusion101.com (or UK – fusion101.co.uk) and thought it very telling of the current state and situation Christian singles find themselves in in the church. I’ll post the letter below but leave it anonymous obviously.
“Hi there, Edward. I just felt compelled to write to you, as I have recently revisited fusion101. I like the new look of it! I read your bio, and I am just so touched that you have such a heart for serving Christian singles in this way. A friend and I were just on the phone talking about how it can be really hard being a single of “a certain age” and people in our church kind-of not knowing what to do with us! She was saying that today when asked how she was doing, she first said “fine”, then decided to be a little transparent and say, “actually, I’ve been kind-of lonely lately”- to which the friends didn’t know what to reply and they just changed the subject! Ugggh.
It’s tough out there. You want to meet a quality person, but you can only go to so many social functions and weddings without success before you start to lose hope! Anyway- I’ve never had any luck online on any site, but one of my closest friends did meet her (now) husband on your site- I don’t know that she’s the kind of person to write a bio to tell you that, but they are perfect for each other and so very happy. I’m so curious- are you passionate about helping Christian singles because you are one and wished someone would help you out- so you’re doing something about it OR are you a married person who just didn’t forget what it’s like and want to be sure to serve an underserved community in our Church?
