christian-singles-on-beachOnce upon a time, a long time ago, in the days before black and white TV, sex before marriage and even contraception was frowned upon (yes it was once by nearly everyone – not just pious church goers!), the outcome of sex was always kids! And of course this was enough to make anyone want to save sex for marriage let alone for moral and Godly principles. And then someone had the bright idea of making contraception something for everybody to experiment with – and it was hailed as the new way to keep unwanted pregnancies and STDs at bay.

Unfortunately, far from having the desired effect and rather predictably -contraception – has had the exact oppose effect because is has cheapened what was once considered to be the real ‘price’ of sex – namely marriage! So now we have ever more promiscuous teenagers, getting ever more pregnant than ever – and having ever more unwanted babies and more STDs than we even thought possible.

All this goes to prove is that God’s plan for sex – to be inside marriage and nowhere else was of course right And there are lots of other reasons why the price of sex should be marriage.  Not least because when you sleep with someone you bond with them not just on a physical level, but on a spiritual level too – and with God – bonding means bonding. In other words you re bonded to that person in a deep way even if you don’t feel it now, you will feel it later and it will cause problems in your next relationships – not that we should be having a string of relationships but looking for one suitable partner for marriage and for life.

So if you are in any doubt as to wether it’s OK or not – don’t be. It’s never OK outside of marriage and by the way, sex does not just mean intercourse in the normal sense – it encompasses anything and everything that feels likes it. We all spend our younger years looking for loopholes in The Bible for lots of things but really there are none. God has placed these restrictions on us for good reason – to protect us and make the marriage we end up and the bond between the two partners as strong as it could possibly be in a totally unstable world of hedonistic cultures.

So take care of your temple girls, and boys treat your sisters in Christ as temples as that according to the Bible is what our bodies are! This is easier said than done but perhaps a little encouragement from Jesus might help who told us; “fornicators will not inherit the kingdom of God.” It’s tough thee is no doubt, but I would be lying if I told you that it was OK as the mainstream media and just about everyone tells you it is these days – including half the church. Take care of your selves and keep yourselves pure if possible as you will not regret it!
